done right.

Your home is probably the most expensive thing you'll ever own. Let's make sure it's protected the way it should be.

What's covered

A standard homeowners policy from the carriers we work with includes the following — but the specifics matter, and we'll walk you through them.

  • Other structuresDetached garages, sheds, fences, and similar.
  • Personal propertyYour belongings — furniture, electronics, clothing — inside and outside the home.
  • Loss of useHotel and additional living costs if your home is uninhabitable after a covered loss.
  • Personal liabilityLegal protection if someone is injured on your property or you cause damage to others.
  • Medical paymentsMinor medical bills for guests injured on your property, regardless of fault.

Frequently asked questions

How much homeowners insurance do I need?
Your dwelling coverage should equal the cost to rebuild your home from scratch — not its market value or what you paid for it. We use replacement-cost calculators with current local construction costs to get this right.
What's not covered by a standard policy?
Floods and earthquakes are the big ones — they require separate policies. Normal wear and tear, pest damage, and intentional damage are also excluded. We'll walk through every exclusion before you sign.
Will my premium go up if I file a claim?
It depends on the type of claim, the carrier, and your history. We can model the impact before you file, so you can decide whether it makes financial sense.
Does it cover home-based businesses?
Usually only minimally. If you run a real business from home, you likely need a separate business policy or a rider. We can help you figure out which.
