Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 16, 2026
Bome Home Insurance Group ("we," "us," or "our") is a licensed insurance agency authorized to transact insurance business in Texas. We are a "covered entity" under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ("GLBA") and Chapter 601 of the Texas Insurance Code, and we are committed to protecting the privacy of nonpublic personal financial and health information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, request an insurance quote, or otherwise interact with us. It serves as the privacy notice required by 28 TAC Chapter 22 (the Texas Department of Insurance's privacy rules).
1. Information We Collect
We collect "nonpublic personal information" (NPI) about you from the following sources:
- Information you provide to us directly on applications, quote request forms, or in other communications — including name, date of birth, driver's license number, contact information, marital status, household members, and property/vehicle details
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others — including policy coverage, premiums, and payment history
- Information from consumer reporting agencies — including motor vehicle records (MVRs), claims history reports (e.g., CLUE), and credit-based insurance scores, obtained as permitted by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
- Information automatically collected on our website — including IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring URLs, collected through cookies or similar technologies
"Nonpublic personal information" does not include information that is publicly available, such as information lawfully made available from federal, state, or local government records.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the NPI we collect for the following purposes:
- To prepare and present insurance quotes from one or more insurance carriers
- To process your application and service any policy issued through us
- To contact you about your quote request via phone, email, SMS/text, or mail
- To provide ongoing service related to insurance policies you purchase through us
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations applicable to licensed insurance agents in Texas, including record-keeping required by the Texas Department of Insurance
- To improve our website, marketing, and customer service
3. Categories of Information We Disclose and to Whom
We disclose the following categories of NPI as permitted by law:
- To our affiliates (any company we control, are controlled by, or are under common control with), if any: information about your transactions and experiences with us
- To nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law, including:
- Insurance carriers and underwriters we represent, for the purpose of generating quotes and writing policies
- Reinsurers, claims adjusters, attorneys, and other service providers necessary to underwrite, issue, or service your policy
- Agency management systems, customer relationship management ("CRM") platforms, and other technology vendors that help us operate our business under written contracts that restrict their use of your information
- Consumer reporting agencies, in connection with quoting or underwriting
- Government authorities and regulators (including the Texas Department of Insurance) when legally required or in response to lawful subpoenas, court orders, or regulatory inquiries
- A successor entity in the event of a sale, merger, or transfer of our business
We do not sell your nonpublic personal information to third parties for their independent marketing purposes. We do not share your NPI with nonaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes except as expressly permitted by law.
4. Your Right to Opt Out
You have the right to direct us not to disclose your NPI to nonaffiliated third parties, except for disclosures that are permitted or required by law (for example, sharing with insurance carriers necessary to quote, issue, or service your policy, or disclosures to government authorities). To opt out, contact us using the information at the end of this policy. We will honor your request within a reasonable time as required by 28 TAC §22.16.
Please note: opting out will not prevent us from sharing your information for the purpose of providing the insurance products or services you have requested.
5. Consumer Reports (FCRA Notice)
To provide an accurate insurance quote, we and our insurance carrier partners may obtain consumer reports about you, including credit-based insurance scores, motor vehicle records (MVRs), claims history reports (CLUE), and similar reports. These reports are used solely to evaluate insurance eligibility and pricing, as permitted by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq., and applicable Texas law.
If we take an adverse underwriting action based in whole or in part on information in a consumer report, we will notify you and provide the contact information of the reporting agency, as required by FCRA and the Texas Insurance Code.
6. Communications & Your TCPA Consent
By submitting a quote request through our website and checking the consent checkbox, you provide prior express written consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA") for Bome Home Insurance Group and its licensed agents to contact you at the phone number and email address you provided — including through auto-dialed calls, pre-recorded voice messages, SMS/text messages, and email — regarding insurance quotes and related services. Message frequency varies (typically 2-6 messages per quote request). Message and data rates may apply. Your consent is not a condition of any purchase. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out at any time.
You can revoke your consent or opt out of marketing communications at any time:
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message we send
- Email: click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us directly
- Phone calls: ask to be added to our internal do-not-call list during any call
- All communications: contact us using the information below
Even after opting out of marketing communications, we may still contact you for transactional purposes — for example, regarding an active policy, pending application, or claim.
7. Data Security
We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect the NPI we collect, consistent with the requirements of GLBA, the Texas Insurance Code Chapter 601, and 28 TAC §22.21. Access to your NPI is restricted to employees and authorized service providers who need it to perform their duties. We require third-party service providers to agree by contract to protect your information.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain your NPI for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with insurance regulatory record-keeping requirements imposed by Texas law (typically a minimum of 5 years from the end of a policy period under TDI rules), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
9. Annual Privacy Notice
If you become our customer (for example, by purchasing a policy through us), we will provide you with this Privacy Policy as our initial notice and will continue to make it available to you annually for as long as our customer relationship continues, as required by 28 TAC §22.9. Updates will be posted to our website and, where required, sent to you directly.
10. Your Rights Under Texas Law
As a Texas consumer, you have the right to:
